Had a day off today so made a bit of progress and found some problems ...
Fidanza 212mm Flywheel and Helix clutch.. Inlet manifold fitted and water pipes etc What happened next... She's in Need to shift the washer bottle before it dribbles down the inner wing as a blob of plastic ... Plus the wiring will have to be re-rooted, in-car all being well and bring it out further to the drivers side Plenty of room at the front, even with a electric fan there should be enough room to V-mount but can't afford an intercooler to suit... A mod i will consider later.. Lots of flywheel showing Last but not least i need to make the hole for the gear stick it little bit longer, but that won't take long.. Sweeps
I'm currently in the process of seam welding my AE86 and was wondering if you have the dimensions of the gussets you have welded to your car? I would like to make some for my build. Thanks Ian. |

Nice progress there, I would consider refitting the shielding between the engine and the gearbox though.. A lot of crap can bounce right into your fleewheel, possibly cause some damage along the way. Even a home-made shield-plate would suffice, as long as it keeps rocks out.

*ian_pez* Wrote:Sweeps I've got to be honest Ian and say no, i made them to fit the car, its not a perfect square shape in the corner so it took a few attempts to get them right, the use of a grinder came in very handy. Funny you should say that Ivan as i had a few people say the same, so : Gearbox removed and plate replaced as suggested. Gearbox mount made to be able to use Supra mount. Front Calipers sand blasted, painted, new seals/rubbers etc. EVO 4/5/6 coil packs fitted. Alloy plate to keep everything in situ, studs fitted to rocker covers, thread locked and lock nuts, nyloc nuts to hold plate in place. Job sorted. Most of wiring has gone, only the basics remain like water temp, starter motor wires, alternator. This will all be rerooted under the dash with minimal wiring under the bonnet.
