Perhaps the spring length is different, so what would lower an AE86, wont lower an AA63?

I cant go too low with mine, my sump is the lowest part of the car now. Sad

Suffered two weeks from a weird noise which I couldn't pinpoint. With help of my neighbor I found out that my right front shock is leaking, so when fully compresssed it is bumping against something in the strut. Undecided

I was planning to put a set of konis under the car anyway, but I thought that would come in time (read: one year or so...) but it looks like I have to do that a bit earlier then. Sad

The big question is: are AE86 konis going to fit in the TA60 struts? Dumb question
And can I also use AE86 konis on the rear axle? Dumb question

jep, Dennis runs AE86 koni's in his celica struts, so they should fit Smile

Rear: dunno exactly, but i think it will be possible, since the setup is the same Smile

Thanks! Thumbs up!
Well, I showed you that the axle has different mounting points for the shocks: they are more or less a bit nearer to the center of the car. Undecided

Tempting... Tongue
But I still think I'll go for the Konis: can get them quite cheaply. Smile

Think I found the answer. Hurray!
Both the AE86 and TA60 have 48530 and 48540 as partnumber for the rear shock absorbers, only the TA60 has different mounting points. Smile

are the whole partnumbers the same?

Because that first number says nothing more then: it's a shock Tongue
Even my Starlet rear shocks do have those numbers, it's the number after the dash that counts!

Double checked: they are different in numbers. Undecided
However... The front shocks differ in numbers as well, so we won't know till I've put them under the carina. Wink
