Hmmz I assume its heavier than an AE86. Why not drop in a gze? That should spice it up!
It should not be much heavier. My TA60 with 2T+A30 autoslushbox weigths 930kg. I think the 4AGE+T50 will add a bit of weight but it should stay below 1000kg even including an axle swap...

a 4a-ge is way lighter then the boat anchor a T engine is Smile

My 2T-G KE20 is no match for my mates 4A-GE KE20 even though the power is roughly the same (stock 4a-ge with 4 branch vs. 2T-G with 100hp at the wheels measured) and the rest of our cars is pretty matched. We haven't been head to head yet, but his car feels soo much faster, it must be in the weight area. My car weighed 910kg at the RDW weighscales

I assume you mean 9mm lower and not 9cm. Wink
Why use the S13 camberplates with the KP61 topmounts and not use the AE86 ones?
Thanks Smile. I have about 9cm of thread left on the coilover sleeve, so it is possible. It will probably drop another 2-3cm to level it out with the rear a bit more.

I used S13 camberplates because of availability. From what i've understood, AE86 top mounts are smaller than s13, and s13 topmounts are 2mm smaller than the TA60 mounts. I bought a set of used S13 camberplates for 35 euros, just to see if it would fit. Unfortunately, the topbearing was too small for the shock, so i had to modify it slightly to accept the bearing carrier of the KP61 plate.

I've decided a small 4 cilinder will not do it for me. So eventually, it'll probably be a 2jz-ge that finds it's way into the bay. In the meantime, i will have to do it with the stock 2T Tongue.

Weight of my car is 940kg on registration papers. I would assume the autobox would add a little bit of weight, especially since a T50 isn't all that heavy.

How much does the AE86 weigh on paper? Wasn't it like a bit over 1000?

So, after driving the car for a few days, a few problems have surfaced.
Main thing is a bit of rubbing in the rear. Guess thats the fun thing about a live axle Tongue. Also want to do a quick checkup on everything, seeing how it holds out. I always need to get comfortable with all the noises that come with lowering a car, so i'm still getting used to that Tongue. Giving everything a bit of a checkup will ensure me that everything is as it should be Smile.

Also, last friday was awesome. Met some new guys, one of which was Aram, with his 3SGE AE86 Smile.
My friends made some pics. Still need to see most of them Tongue.

I'm in the background on the second to last one, but there should be some rolling shots of my car aswell Smile. Curious to see the endresult, also of the video footage that was shot that day Smile.

Nice photos! Thumbs up!
In the third picture: isn't that the 240K GT that once belonged to first Eric and later Rick?

The AE86 officially weigths 950kg (coupe) and 970kg (hatchback) so they are actually slightly heavier than the Carina TA60.
The Celica AA63 actually is a lot heavier: 1116kg. I reckon the IRS adds a bit of weight as well and the same goes for the USDM bumper mounted on every single one of them. Wink

Yup, that 240K used to belong to Eric, and to Rick Tongue. It now belongs to a guy named Carlo, who also bought Eric's 510 wagon, and who also owns a 620 pickup Smile. Nice carpark Big Grin.

Here's a link to the article from friday:

And off course the vid:

Unfortunately the Carina only makes a small appearance, but friday was awesome anyhow!

Still hoping to see some of the rolling shots of my car, allways love those!
