Looking good jamie!

Are you planning to produce and sell the brackets and other parts? I still have 2 sets of RX7 calipers in my shed from which atleast 1 is usable..

I have to admit I have no plans to put them on my car atm as I'm happy with my current setup, but who knows what the future brings.

What did you use for the rears?

jamiemirror Wrote:We have one modified AE86 here:
rear rotors Nissan Primera, 257mm - direct fitment
rear calipers VW Golf MK4 - only little redrilling required, stock caliper mount plate (used on AE86 rear end) must be flipped at 180 angles and e-brake lever on VW caliper must be flipped also (all these are bolt-on jobs)

since you changed the orginal design for the rear. Dont you think you should change the Master Brake booster and the Master Cyclinder to take the acount of the rear set up?

I tend to think that the Stock set up is pretty good as it is. There is wilwood, Brembo, Greddy, etc. But those are just costly but surely great.

But this is really interesting since There are many who had needed a better rear set up for higher HP modification.

Most of original rear calipers are non-functional due to age, rust and dirt.
I prefer to use better ones + big brake option at the cost of rebuild + little more money spent.

Also keep in mind that this car use 276mm fronts + 4-pot calipers so 257mm rears are match. If you like - you can add sub-$50 Willwood brake bias regulator also.

Stock brake master works, the feeling is different. AE82 1.6 (even SOHC) use a little bigger diameter for brake master and is bolt-on for AE86 (at least LHD). You can calculate new brake fluid volume required for 4-pots, I tried in the past and result was <5% increase.

In the TRD Bible found the corresponding AP Racing part nr's for the Group A setup. The scary is, the rear disc is 264 dia versus 260 in the front. Any idea why?

Here's the setup in full according to the bible:
Double master cylinder (AP Racing CP2270-16) 15.88mm piston dia (0,625″ 5/8 inch) or 17.88mm (0,7″Wink piston dia with 35mm stroke, cockpit adjustable balancing bar. 4 piston AP Racing CP2270-86/87S4QR caliper, 4x41,3mm piston dia with, 259,6×25,4mm cooled disc, 2 piston rear AP Racing CP2382 caliper, 264,2×20.7mm solid(? probably not) disc, hydraulic handbrake. The AP parts are cost a fortune, of course.
