they should fit but because the diameter increases you need to change the caliper. So then you would still need to change both before you have any effect.

There are also FC3s and R32 rear kits from Japan.
They come with all necessary parts.

I bought the rear Primera rotors . they fit without problem , but the center hole is larger than the ae86 .
I did that to have the rear caliper upgraded with VW Golf caliper .
you can't keep the rear ae86 caliper .

It 's a cheap upgrade , but did not succeed to do it for now
Trying to have more information . I know the brake plate must be 180° flipped , but there's not enough room to fit caliper support, between disc and plate (even flipped)

Hoping to have help about that mod

Dear sirs! i read at some places including here that VW golf 4 brakes and nissan primera disks fit the 86 rear axle perfect. im through many sites and broken links about this topic and yet i didnt find accurate informations about this. Im not an expert about the brakes and also cant afford myself to test and try it myself. should i use front or rear caliper of the golf 4? front or rear disc of the primera and which year model?
photos would help alot!
for the front im planning to use the t3 wilwood big brake kit. do i need to upgrade my brake master cyl, if so, what should i use that wont inwolve tons of modifications on the brake booster?
my 86 is 1985 eu-spec (german?), non-ps, 5speed manual and has zenki rear axle.

Hiya Lajoosh, see the post directly above yours..apparently its not 100% certain that this works.

To be honest..in a well setup car the front of the car is doing 80-90% of braking, so max 20% left for the rear. This is the only energy you need to disspate..in theory that should be possible with the std brakes. Just mix and match rear pads to get the correct F/R balance and temp range.. (actually, that might be the biggest problem, finding a set of rear high temp pads that work and fit)

I've also upgraded to the wilwoods and plan on monitoring rear brake temps with temperature sensitive paint.. I honestly don't expect any problems, but would love to hear if any of the experienced racers here have had other experiences.

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear

the problem is my calipers and discs are in so bad condition that for me it doesnt worth refurbishing them. thats why i spend a little more money and do big brake conversion on the front and also the rear. filh's post didnt say more than he used the rear discs of that primera which i still dont know anything more. Smile
neither know the caliper is taken from the front or the rear of the golf4.

PLZ HELP!

hello , didn't sat more about that , because I did'n t go further with that mods , due to the lack of infos .
But I can tell you that I bought the caliper .
It's rear VW Golf IV or Audi A3 caliper that are used .
The discs are from rear Nissan Primera 2.0E type P11.

The rear Toyota caliper mount is used , but I tried it and it's not working .

Jamiemirror did that mod , but when I contacted him , I got no answer.

So that's where I'm .
It's true , that's front brake do the most of braking job , but rear are very bad parts . Small pads , badly guidance (rubber) make a spongy pedal .
You can check that : remove rear wheel and twist rear caliper : You' ll see great moves from that part .

And another good reason to improve the rear brakes : handbrake !!!!

very bad stock system (of course doing the job well if used to park the car)

I ' got an hydraulic one fixed (AP Racing) . I had to lenghten the lever , aeroquip hoses , and I use Ferodo DS2500 pads . And It's still far from easy to have it working good .

I asked help here about Golf IV/ Primera mods , but none seems to have the mods done .

Hope it helps a little

Regards
