You should be able to see a dimple in the camshaft when the engine is at top dead center. Just look trough the oil filler hole. If I'm not mistaken, the cams turn at 1/2 the speed of the crankshaft, so this top dead center indicator on the camshaft should only be visible on the compression stroke.
The correct way of installing the distribitor by the way, is to align a line on the shaft with a dimple on the housing, then insert the entire distributor while keeping it around the middle of it's adjustability range. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
