unless you have something to make nice square (or almost square) holes with I dont expect it's very easy.. the original sideskirted cars had sills that where pre-stamped to fit them I think.

Exactly, I think thats your hole problem. The original sideskirted cars already rot like hell even if you took proper care of them due to rot settling in. Let alone if you start drilling holes into a body and then somehow try to rust proof those holes with a car that didn't have sideskirts. I think the best route is to make sure the layer of paint on the body work is rock solid, then glue the skirts on and make sure moisture can't be trapped inside by leaving some holes in the underside of the skirts and then just filling the things up with some anti rust stuff like waxoil or something.. but thats just my humble opinion ![]() ![]() Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi ![]() |

The kit I used to work with in bodyshop is PU-kit, polyurethane-kit, they sell at carpaint shop not Gamma or so, just cost € 6 each tube.
It's so strong you can even glue small brackets and stuff with it, it's sorta like rubber when dry and even paintable afterwards to make a seamless skirt. If you like I can search for brand, let me know. Disclaimer: Any errors in spelling, tact, or fact are transmission errors. |

Hehe keep the contacts warm
![]() Anyways got some email back from Martijn, he mentions the same kit you use to glue in the front window works miricles in fixing fiberglas body parts to a car. You need to use the kit in combination with a 'primer' that you just glue on both the body and the fiberglas part and then you apply the kit and it sticks very good. If you ever need to remove it you just cut it loose with 'fish wire' (dunne know what to call it, the special sharp metal wire) or a razor just like you would with removing the glass.

5/2018 BMW F22 Coupe 1/1985 Toyota AE86 Levin Coupe |
