it looked like shit, but turned out be not so bad after all.

it's a '86 model, has 160k on the engine and chassi. The engine looks untouched(runs great), gearbox needs fixing(2 & 3 gear), some noise from the diff. everything else works. one corner light is missing,so is the left door panel and has funny pins on the hood(by the way it needs fixing too, cuz I think the holes for the pins where made with a screwdriver!)

the previous owner did some work on it: indicator switch=made of heavy iron!, home made corner light, front & rear sus(front is damage now) and he also poured litres of silicone to seal the sunroof.

The car had some minor body work done on the left side, which needs to be fixed.

...I think that's all

yeah..no rear corner screen but thanks to dAYTONA, problem solved.

here's some pics

Not too bad. Don't like it with the stickers and (fake?) racing locks on the hood.

But looks like it doesn't have too much rust. Wink

I took some inside pics. Haven't figured exactly how I am going to clean there. There's a lot of dirt inside.

Next up is

I'll think I'll wait until I've welded those 3 pieces in before I cut that out. Don't want to weaken the chassi to much at once

Cheers!

I've pick up pol's Weld 2 (weld through primer) which suppose to be one of the best Thumbs up!

Firstly, I cleaned and sprayed some phosphoric acid where I could.

Wiped the acid and painted two layers of Weld 2. Welded the first reinforcement

Then some more cleaning and on with the primer again.

...and the next reinforcement

I know, I need some welding practise Big Grin
Hopefully will get better later on Thumbs up!

Position while welding is the key thing...
Got to learn somehow
