The photo of that piston and rod have been up on facebook for 3 days prior to posting it in a forum... in 3 days... it got liked but over 80 people (likely more - I'm still learning fb), and yet not one comment on the interesting piston..... at least not until now......

So lets look at the interesting piston design.... and to make it easy, it is for a S/C build. Dish = 7cc, valve troughs instead of reliefs to minimize potential uneven crown hot spots.

Full squish/quench pads to maximize the action on the charge

from faceboo Wrote:There is no way that can only be -7CC dish. The actual dish looks deeper than the GZE and then those massive troughs on top of that? There is no way that piston has more compression than a gen 1 GZE.

I was warned about facebook Banging head ..... I had these built to my specifications. I told the JE engineer each time I had a change to VERIFY the volume was -7cc... but because I'm an anal retentive SOB... the piston's dish was measured.... AND verified @ Loynings.

This piston took multiple weeks to design. Its primary goal was to offer a "stock" replacement (8.9:1) 4AGZE piston with squish pads which the OEM 4AGZE slugs do not incorporate.... but with a bit more. This design can be manipulated easily to offer from 10:1 on down.

A few more details...

All loaded up and heading over to Loynings with the block, crank, rods, head, and OS valves....

Ah yes, the faceballs... These are the times I absolutely don't regret not going there anymore. Big Grin

BTW: what's the reason you nicknamed it "The Dubai Deception"? A customer from Dubai perhaps? Tongue

my forum audience has dwindled in recent years.... and I'm trying to get a blog up and running(not yet... a few too many bugs to work out - mostly my unwillingness to learn new software Banging head )

What about doing videos on your builds?
In general that attracts a lot of attention (especially the quality work by you) and is easier to go viral via Facebook and big automotive sites. Also FB is actively "ignoring" external content, like blogs and video content is easier.

I'm having a tough time learning wordpress, and you want me to go full on video.... Confused

I think I need a "go fund me" page... lets see, shop instead of sharing garage space - $7000, find a local "lacky", to set up the camera, and do all the editing.... Talk about the editing.... do you really want to look at this....

[Image: AEU86 AE86 - OST-042-01: The Dubai Deception]

That will require major editing Angel

Yes, I thought it would be an option as you document/photograph all your builds in such detail. Tongue
But I get your point, and I can say from experience it is a lot of work filming and editing. Wink

That picture is perfect for a safety first advert Big Grin

You could set-up the gopro in time-lapse mode at a fixed position over your working area and just see how it turns out. Maybe someone here will be willing to edit the footage (not me for sure, I suck at editing).

Edit: Strapping the camera to your chest might work too depending how much you move.
