I'm getting kind of tired of going deep TBH...
Spent 6 hours working on the interior last saturday. And that was only scuffing up the primer in preparation for painting the inside.
Not a flat panel in sight. Decided not to photograph anything because there was very little to see.
The upside is I got a good look at things I've forgotten to seam-seal and some bits of welding that need more finishing (jaggy edges).

The raptor on the underbody has hardened up nicely in a week and a half's time though.

Shot the inside today:





I used up 2 bottles of Raptor, tinted, thinned and applied with a new spraygun.

Now I have about a day worth of struggles with a tap and die set ahead of me since I didnt have time to plug any bolt holes and studs before painting the interior.
Totally worth it.

I've had a lot to think about with regards to the project.
Have been plowing forward with nothing but paint in mind, but now that only the outside remains to be done I have been considering how awkward it would be to have a painted car and then have to do lots of work in and around it and risk damaging stuff.

Have concluded that there is a ton of small stuff that can needs doing before assembly can begin in earnest and there is no time like the present, so get to it.
The new 'plan' for the coming months:
1:Get the chassis rolling & steering
2:Prepare all parts that need to go on the car
3:Tackle sound & heat insulation.

Have made some progress on points 1&2 today:

The steering box and column looked like shit, not worth the effort of taking them
apart for blasting/coating, so just attacked 'em the old fashioned way, with a wire wheel and paint.



Slap some epoxy primer on after wire wheeling all the rust off:


Slap some cheap black paint on:


Finished product with 2k clearcoat applied


I could not get the height adjustment off so I had to leave the top bit of the column rusty, was afraid I would break something.
Anyone know if it's that bolt on the height adjustment handle that needs to come out? It's so stuck that it requires application of the ugga-dugga, but I wussed out.

Another step towards parts preparation:
Get ALL the bolts zinc plated.
No shit looking bolts on a clean shell. Will be going for an unassuming matte silver coating instead of the yellow passivated look. The stuff I'm going for is over 5 to 10 times more rust resistant than the pretty looking plating.

First need to get them weighed in.. including loads of spares and new bolts I have about 13,5 kg's of bolts ready to go.


Also have a bunch of bracketry that WILL be getting a more regular zinc coating.
