Crank pulley without harmonic damper
The rubber in my old pulley is on the way out so I am looking for a new one. I want it with a 36-1 trigger Wheel - currently I have one welded on the stock pulley which is balanced with the engine.

My concern is that aftermarket pulleys do not have a damper and I don't really know how well balanced they are.

So far I have been looking at the T3 option + trigger wheel:

And TTV underdrive pulley:

I like that the TTV is one piece and not just a trigger Wheel held on with two screws but it is slightly more expensive than the T3 option.

Any thoughts on this? Any other options I should look at?

the solution for me was a new oem two row, machined to remove the outer section.

my trigger wheel is mounted to the front

Why did you choose the OEM pulley Dan?

OEM is so far the only damped one I found so far, apart from custom jobs which are very expensive.

Yes but do we NEED the damper? I have no idea what expect concerning life time!

I'd like to say no but unfortunately we do need it. with the strain from the belts you'd shorten the life of the engine quite a bit.
Have a look at other high revving engines in race use - even they fit harmonic dampers despite the fact they open-up/rebuild their engines once a season or more.

I got a non damped one too (part of a kit) but I won't fit it unless I can find a way to convert to being damped. Unfortunately I have no clue how one would do that and still keep it safe.

At the time... it was after a chat with Arnie Loyning... I've forgotten the specifics... but it had to do with the early crank not being a true full counter weight type, and it was susceptible to breaking @ 8500 rpm (+ or -) without a dampened pulley.

Not sure what your budget is...... it is quite a bit cheaper these days($392 vs $501) then back in 2008

I paid $275.00 for mine, and then I sent it off to Jackson Autosport to get modified... they modified it, an old distributor, and built the wiring harness for the FJO managment.
