Ok, I've got some more progress. There are seat belt mounts now, The last cage tube, and the front reinforcement to the radiator support.

Thats 1/8th inch angle, one piece... so hopefully it will be pretty strong.

And that's just the rear tube.

It's also been seam sealed and is pretty much ready for paint Hurray!

American Rally 86 UPDATE
Well now. I've finally gotten around to taking some pics, as I've finally had time to work on this. I've been slowly chipping away various other things, but actually working on the car hasn't happened much. You can thank a 10 page research paper and physics tests for that Tongue

About frickin time, right? I just need one-two more cans of paint for the cage, and to finish the trunk area.

nice work on the rad mount, good idea as it mounts the front of the castor rods...

did you cut away the original panel or just place the angle over it?

Brake with the left hand, steer with the right foot...

Thanks!

I stuck it over the original material, to strengthen it. I wasn't about to put all the work into trying to keep the front end straight while I cut a huge chunk out to weld some 1/8 (actually, it might be 1/4 inch, I forget) inch angle iron in Big Grin.

Lajoosh: Thanks!

As you can see, and I said yesterday, it's primed!

Also, The A pillars and the support tubes are flat black (well, so is the cowl piece thingy but that doesnt really matter...). This is to help while driving, the flat black "blends" better and doesnt stick out as much.

Next up is to finish painting the inside, I still have the trunk area and the areas I needed to fix from the first go around on the cage, and then I can start assembling. First up will be front suspension, and then the rear, and then it will be off the rotissorie.
