question/ pic request: golden SSR formula mesh rims

Not sure, if thats the right place to ask, so feel free to move.

I´m currently getting my Hoshino Impul mesh (same as SSR formula mesh) rims refurbed, they got sandblasted and I was just wondering what the did in the factory to make them gold?
It´s not really painted isn´t it?

So I´m stuck wether to get it painted, or do whatever has been done to them before...

I´m most certainly not the first one with this question, but could find any answers.

Does anybody who already did his rims remember a paint code (RAL??) and has a picture?
