Whats the weight of your AE86?
The manual says - 940kgs for the 2D and 960kgs for the 3D.

But nobody knows which version they measured - with sunroof? with AC? how much fuel in the car?.

I weighted my car soon (during a brake test) and it came to less than 900kg (with spare tire, some tools, almost no fuel, basic version - no sunroof, 2D, no AC etc.).

The exact kilograms are:
967kg with driver (70 - 80kg).
470kg on the rear axle.
(6900N brake force on all wheels).

So can you maybe share your experience? Im really curious about the real weight of the hachi!

P.S. Does somebody knows, what should be the the brake power on the hachis? Couldnt find it anywhere Undecided Banging head

we removed the whole interion and sound isolation so Im planning to weight it as soon as the car will be driving, but the isolation it self is about 15kg, the interior is alsmost 10kg too.
btw, when talking about saving off some kg's. a friend send me a link for some US pages offering FRP bonnet and hatch door, both TWICE cheaper than for example Jblood parts. anyone of you heard about them guys? or do you have any other FRP parts that dont cost as much as my whole car did? Big Grin

Problem with FRP hood is that all around the world they make it mostly for the Trueno version not for the Levin. I've found this website: http://www.86factory.com/Product.htm but couldn't get any answer for my questions yet. BTW they are faaaar far away so the shipping would be killer but found this parts nowhere on the earth. For example an FRP sunroof which I really need...

Oh and back to the topic: I also want to measure my car once I will have time for it. Hope she will be around 900kgs Smile

if a hachi itself is around 900 kg, and theese people say FG dors can shave off 32 kg each, hood 30 kg, fenders etc.. Then by stripping all of the insulation and interior, and replacing this panels, you can get the car to weight around 750 kg? and say, you go one step further and replace those windows with some plexi or lexan.. you would be seeing numbers with the 6 in front Huh

the numbers over there seem to be a bit too optimistic Smile though still saving 10-15kg on one door is possible imho...
anyways 440 NZD is a great price, but I think that the shipping wil cost as much as the parts...

The weights wil also vary based on your country. Each country may have different requirements for the measurement, i.e. "dry" versus all fluids including a full load of petrol which is about 100 lbs by itself.

Cars built to the US standard will have reinforcing bars in the doors that the Japanese domestic models did not have, and much heavier structural bumpers. What you have in any other country in the world, and how it is required to be measured, I can't guess.
