Shim overbucket ghetto
Hi folks.

I'm in the process of converting to shimless or shim underbucket design lifters but in the meantime, looking at the figures I'm facing to buy a complete 1SZ-FE lifter kit, I'm wondering how ghetto can I go.

Has anyone ever welded the shims to the buckets? If yes.. how?

What are your thoughts on these matter?

Best regards

Welding yes bad idea, not only does it add weight but would also put the balance of the shims out.

Cheapest way to go undershim would be to go 20v head.

Steve.....this is sparrrrrtan

Yeah not really a good idea. Better to use new buckets that are the right size.
