Rear Brake Calipers
Hi Guys,

my rear brake calipers are broken beyond any repair.

New rear calipers from toyota goes for about 400e/piece.

My car has not gone threw MOT yet so I cant really go for some big brake upgrade with adapter plates.

What options do I have is there any other bolt on caliper that fits or with minor adjustments.

get some refurbished units off of ebay.. about 130-160 euro's a piece.
There isnt a lot that will bolt on without lots of other mods.

Or find a complete set of MA45 brakes. These are slightly larger (~1inch), and bolt up, no adaptor plates necessary.

Rebuilding the rears with new seals is very easy to do. Consider that option, you need a special removal tool to get to the cylinder.

He did say broken beyond repair..
And rebuilding the rear calipers is a pain in the ass. The main
seal is easy to get too, but the handbrake mechanism (which
causes most problems) is tedious, and needs special tools.

It isnĀ“t so hard to repair the rear-caliper, i made the special tool by myself. u have to cut a rear-piston and take out the "srcew" and welding it on to a screwdriver. now u can easily hold down spring to fit the snapring.
