We already have rss over a year now. Wink
Only drawback is you don't have sessions, so some sections are not in there. Undecided

A bit more info:
RSS is a format for spreading (news) items on a unform way. In this way you can subscribe to many rss-feeds and see if anything is updated recently. For aeu86.org we support rss in two ways: front page and forum. For the frontpage we also support atom and opml.

For RSS-feeds you need a RSS-viewer. Nowadays RSS-viewers are quite common and come in very much flavors: a seperate program or a extension for popular programs as IE, Firefox or Trillian. A very popular extention for firefox is the sage-viewer.

When you load the feed into the viewer you can have your viewer update the content as often as you like (e.g. every minute) but please note the server will have a higher load if you all use this functionality every minute. Wink

I honestly have no idea. I don't use IE for over two years now. Blush

Anyone else know a good plugin for IE?

I would recommend this one - standalone solution.

A small kick.
I've added some tags in the templates which enables functionality in some of the newer browsers (FireFox 1.0 and Opera 8.x): you now only have to click on the feed-button to subscribe for both feeds. See attached images for details. Wink

I use my Xbox as a media center in my lounge.

Right now I get RSS feeds from news stations on the internet and they scroll across whilst I'm playing music and stuff. I will get the aeu86 RSS feeds included - this will save me a trip up to the PC to take a peek.

I'll get some screenshots of it in action for you guys. Thumbs up!

Regards Ian.
