Questions about brake boosters and master cylinders---SOLVED
Hi mates looking "google pics" i saw this:

Anybody know what brake booster and master cylinder is that?

I heard that Honda Insight's booster can be fitted in our cars...Anybody know if it's true and what size is this master cylinder? (my car mounts 4 pistons wilwood brake calipers, but her zenki master cylinder is a bit small)

Other solution for those calipers?

Thanks!

Cheers, Tomi

It´s a KP6* in the picture and cause of that it´s the genuine KP brakebooster Smile same with the brake master cylinder.

I´d personally whouldn´t use them, very tiny booster and small diameter master cylinder!

Can´t help with your other questions, sorry...

IMHO you should be able to stick with the original brake booster and just change the BMC to something bigger to accommodate the willwood 4pots.

what bolt pattern do you have as there are different ones?

If you have the standard horizontal 2 bolts BMC-> many nissan (like the R32 GTS) , many toyota 4X4 (landcrusier) some Mitsubishi...
Seriously you have many options

By the way it would be cool to make a complete list of BMC that can be used depending on the booster
(On AE86 we have 3 different types: 2 bolts straight, 2 bolts inclined, 4 bolts)
and the bore size of each Smile

4 bolt is 7/8 the others are 15/16 if I'm not mistaken - as far as I'm aware the 4 bolt is rather rare and apparently also used on the 4runner (US Hilux version) but not on the regular Hiluxs and Land Cruisers

As above R32 non-abs will work + some Hilux options.
The R32 is front is a 3 line type, Front left/right & rear

What Wilwoods are you running?

I have the standard setup and so far its been fine. Maybe a little more travel then stock, but I find it makes the brakes easier to modulate when using grabby pads (personal preference).

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear

13/16 for the others Wink (15/16 is what you want when you run 4 pots)
