Questions about brake boosters and master cylinders---SOLVED
Thanks mates!!! Respect!

Bean Bandit Wrote:what bolt pattern do you have as there are different ones?

My car is mounting zenki 2 bolts (pic below) i have an old kouki in the garage, but i don't know if it would also be small

Project D Wrote:If you have the standard horizontal 2 bolts BMC-> many nissan (like the R32 GTS) , many toyota 4X4 (landcrusier) some Mitsubishi...

By the way it would be cool to make a complete list of BMC that can be used depending on the booster
(On AE86 we have 3 different types: 2 bolts straight, 2 bolts inclined, 4 bolts)
and the bore size of each

Looking the car is an horizontal 2 bolts BMC, not? (look the pics below)...then, a R32 GTS will fit in my brake booster, not? (I understand that i have to get only the R32 BMC... whitout R32 booster?)

Eircamae86 Wrote:As above R32 non-abs will work + some Hilux options.
The R32 is front is a 3 line type, Front left/right & rear

3 lines?...Then, should i make a new tube instalation or connect L+R in the original "front tubes"??

NoHachi Wrote:What Wilwoods are you running?

Wilwood forged Dynalite

PatrickAE86 Wrote:zenki is 2 bolt and kouki 4 bolt

All right, 2 horizontal zenki, but 2 bolts inclined...i don't know

Then, do you know what chassis-year of Hilux, LandCruisers will fit in the 2 horizontal bolts booster?? what size are? would i have to modify the tubes instalation? bigger than R32? (i would preffer a Toyota BMC than Nissan because the R32 never sold here and the Gran Canaria Nissan distributor work very poorly and too expensive, and we have a lot of Hilux and LandCruisers here, and is so easy to buy a repair kit, etc, but if R32 is much better, i'll buy it with his repair kit by internet)

Thanks mates

Why do you need the bigger cylinder if running dynalites?

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear

Very interesting this topic, as I want to upgrade my brakes aswel.

Who knows of more brake set-ups than the usual RX7/Wilwood upgrades.

Anyone tried Elise AP brakes for example?

Yes, yours is a horizontal 2 bolts.
Inclined 2 bolts look like this:

For dynalite you don't really need big BMC, a 7/8 from nissan silvia for exemple is big enough.

I'll try to check the size of the Hilux version tomorrow. Can someone post the bolt spacing in mm of the AE86 2bolt version, so I can check that as well (should be the same I think but better to be sure).

I just measure it, seems 80mm (is difficult to measure mounted in the car). Thanks mate!!

NoHachi, my car has the zenki BMC, with the OEM brakes the car didn't brake too much, but with 280mm discs and dynalites it brakes a bit bit more...something is wrong Sad

Aram, a friend mounted the specific GReedy, and the car brake more, but he has the same problem: he has a zenki BMC. I would have preferred the AP calipers, but are expensive (the best is expensive). This is his mint mint mint car: Yummie!

I'm using MA70 supra BMC, which is 4 bolt such as my booster. Most of the guys using adapter plates if they have 2 bolts booster. This just a piece if metal, nothing complicated.

Ok mate, thanks

Finally i installed an Hiace BMC is 1' and 7.8cm by bolts (not 8cm like i said), starlet EP71 deposit (hiace's one touched the booster), and re-instalation of tubes (from above to right side)...and now the pedal isn't soft

The BMC swap:
