hehe,
well that does teach you guys to better diagnose an engine before swapping awell look at the bright side, now you know how to do this Seriously though, very cool, I don't think there are many guys (relatively speaking that is) on this board who'd do what you just did, swap out a (different) engine with little to no previous experience and get it up and running within a day Greetz, Bastiaan "mux213" Olij Moved down under, no more hachi |

I didnt bring a camera...it would only have slowed us down. We worked 12 hours with only 2 coffee breaks to get it finished on time.
About wether or not I worry too much... Yes I do. It's a fact But I could never be sure y'know... and I couldnt resist installing a 7-rib engine that ran smooth as butter. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Guys, need some help....
My car is going for it's APK (MOT) this friday, and I have something that is bugging me. I started to notice a slight rumbling noise from my left rear wheel in corners to the right. I thought a bearing had gone bad so I took the half-axle in question out (this one is so loose i can pull it by hand) for inspection. On closer look the bearing feels good as new, but the whole half-axle can move in and out half a millimeter when mounted. I couldnt get the bearing to move when it was out of the car though. What can be causing this? maybe the retainer moved a bit? Also my right rear brake caliper is bad... it always sticka a little and the piston is really hard to turn back in...anyone have a spare somewhere? This one has been like this since I bought the car so it's not bad enough to fail APK, but still...would like to fix it. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |

Little update:
Failed the MOT yet again (4 years in a row now...going strong!). No surprises though.. they failed me for having non-captive springs in front.. For those who dont know those springs make the car higher than stock Maybe they sagged a bit since last year they just passed. The other thing was a torn steering knuckle dustcover.. knew that a week ago but forgot it when I was fixing up the rest. I think I'm going to give the crappy lowering springs a shot again in combination with some yellow or red koni's.. FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC! |
