Yeah, I'm pretty glad I sold my house when I did or I would have lost alot more money.

As for the acid dip, I'm not 100% sure but the restauration vids I've seen generally acid dip before the welding because the acid dip reveals all the hidden bad spots but often they don't do the coating until after all the welding is done but do some sort of temporary coating. I've even seen one or two that don't do the coating but do the welding first, then a second acid bath and then coating straight after that.

If I recall correctly, but its been awhile since I last watched it, that 280Z restauration (MULL?) did the acid dip and some coating before (some really serious) welding, not sure what he did afterwards though.

I guess it all depends on how much time you plan to spend on the welding phase and how much budget you're willing to blow.

There was a very interesting lockup featured with a very well known hachi... Nice going! Thumbs up!
I'll make a picture of the big grinning Ivan later. Wink

After a long break I am going to try and pick up the pace of my resto tomorrow. Moved to an appartment and found myself spending all my weekends working on making it a home.

I'll just put up my todo list for my own motivation.

-Finish dressing up the welds on the arches.
-Fix rust on both doors.
-Fix rust on both bootlids (I have 2 that I want to use).
-Weld spoiler mount holes shut on old bootlid.
-Fix up broken mount points and remove broken bolts.

-Fabricate floor reinforcements beneath front seats.
-Fix up and reinforce seat mounting points.
-Fabricate and mount front shock tower reinforcements.
-6x9 speaker mounts in parcel tray (for hidden mounting under fabric).

Mind you that's just what needs to be done to the chassis before I consider sending it off for final blasting and coating.

FABRICA MI DIEM, PVNC!
