Are you going to go to Zolder this year?
My ae86 rallycar is almost finished and after 3 years work i want to go back this year(i hope)
Would be great with more than 1 ae86.

Yes, for sure! I'm not sure when but Zolder is very close by so I'll attend. Looking forward to some Nurburgring trips as well. Cool

Replacing the exhaust was the only thing you did to reduce the noise? I'm contemplating getting the HKS Sport/HKS Legal exhaust for my 86 to replace the custom but very loud exhaust that's fitted to mine. The other alternative I see is to fit some sound deadening to the interior, as especially the trunk is entirely unprotected. At highway speeds I can't hear the radio either.

What stuff did you use under your car? Mine doesn't have anything under it either, yet. Still in pristine condition like yours.

decryphe,

I fitted an entirely new exhaust front to back. Pretty happy with the sound, only the fitment for the center muffler could be a little better. It came out really low when installed and I ended up scraping it a lot Sad.

Modified it a little myself but on numerous occassions I've contemplated on removing the center muffler and fitting a straight pipe that runs along the body. The only thing stopping me is increased noise!

If your car has all the normal interior parts I wouldn't bother fitting extra. It would only increase weight and with the right muffler you shouldn't have a noise problem at all.

Can't really remember what product I used at the moment.

Hi Lt86,

Glad to see your beloved hachi is running again after a while and that you're enjoying it as it was meant to be.

Loving all the mods so far, the car looks stunning and sooooo clean! Big Grin

BTW, how are you liking the Driftworks CS2 coilovers?

Thanks!

I'm finding them a bit harsh for Belgian roads. I would love to have them a little bit softer but they're really a dream on the track and smooth surfaces. High quality build and pretty light since the knuckle is fixed on the coilover.

The car is really doing great. Had my first (of many!) trips to the Nürburgring on sunday and it performed nicely. I still have some stuff I want to do but it's on my list for this year.

Next update. Fix my LHD headlights and get some nice equal beams again.
