Nothing special with the cable, but you should wind the piston back into
the caliper to allow the new pads to fit correctly. There is a spring loaded
spiral rachet thingy (technical term Tongue ) in behind that automatically
adjusts the handbrake as the pads wear.

If you don't wind the piston back in, you could have problems fitting new
pads, but hardly likely to be a problem with brand new calipers.
