Haven´t updated this for ages... Time for a mega update!!!
Now I´m trying to remember everything in cronological order: Dash has been flocked, turned out very well, especially if you consider what it looked like before. Redone my exhaust so it sits almost flush with the chassis rails and installed a 2nd hand genuine BMW stainless silencer, as quiet as a mouse with the exhaust bung and reasonable loud and raspy without and I recon I gained power due that bit backpressure. ![]() Hydro installation completed, unfortunatly my GAZ shocks weren´t ready in time, so it´s one more time for my leaky TRD blue´s ![]() 18.08.2012 My 2nd attempt at Lydden Hill, skills were growing and a hydrolic handbrake is the best you can do to a drift car after welding the diff!!! But as always I forgot to take pictures or videos so this is what I could gather from the internet. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I didn´t crash this time:o and the car proved its reliability one more time by surving the day without any trouble. Just one week later (25.08.2012), I agreed to meet up with my friends from Germany to do another drift day in Aachen, which is about a 2,5h drive from the ferry. Did show them what I´ve learned in the UK: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Did some nice twinning with a E36 at the end of the day, but I dont think there is any fotage... There are some gopro videos on my mates SD card but I haven´t got them, yet. Visited my family and friends, loaded up all the tires I had stored at home and than made my way back to the UK. I must have done at least 1500 miles pure driving + 1 drift day. So don´t tell me old 80´s shitbox driftcars can´t be reliable and proper bucket seats aren´t comfortable, or its just me beeing a bit nuts... Meanwhile work has become the home of more AE´s: ![]() Cause I still had a couple of days insurance on my car I took it out and took a few lifestyling pictures... ![]() ![]() Parked the AE86 up and left it there for a while, couldn´t afford any new parts, cause previous driftdays and the eurotrip made me uber skint and left me in debt with my mum...:o:o:o As always after driving/ drifting a car for a while you end up finding things that need to be optimised to make the car even better, I always told people, that I was happy with the power of my AE86, but now for the first time I have to admit, that 130bhp are just not enough, even in a lightweight AE86. Just doesnt want to do 3rd in the dry ![]() So I made a new wishlist to get it lighter and get a bit more power out of it and started saving money (again). 1979 Toyota Corolla KE35 1983 Toyota Corolla AE86 1985 Toyota Corolla AE86 |
