It has been a while since my last update, these are a few pictures from our drift meeting (10.04.2011), unfortunatly the police was very quick, even tho we had chosen a rural commercial area with no business. After a long discussion they let us got, but I didn´t get the chance to "try" my car, most of my mates didn´t either.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The 325i was purchased one day before the meeting, 1000€ with bilstein suspension, strut brace and 2 sets of tires. ![]() ![]() I helped my friend with a quick engine rebuild after his AE86 hat sat a few years with a blown engine, got ready just in time ![]() ![]() ![]() Since that weekend not much happened, cause I´ve been very busy with university, work, but still managed to get a few new parts. ![]() A mate offered me a free Sparco pro 2000 without the "bottom seat pad" and the FIA just ran out, of course I took it. ![]() I recived a pair of SSR formula mesh 14x7 -3 from Japan and set of front caliper brakets in very good condition, scary enough I ordered them the night before the earthquake!!! Thanks to the DW forum I got a pair of 2nd hand TRD shocks, to replace the tired long stroke Koni yellows, together with a few other bits and pieces. Thanks, for that ![]() Also got new bonnet pins and the 2nd tow hook off ebay. ![]() ![]() Placed my order at DW, for adjustable tension rods, HKB boss kit and a magnetic sump plug (still not sure it it will fit) After just 2 days I got everything, I wish every shop whould work as fast as Driftworks does!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Still needed to look for a way to mount the pro 2000 and came across a cheap pair of Wisteria low mount seat rail in the private sales section. ![]() It needs a little cuting and welding to fit a 410mm base side, but it will be fine and it will gain ~5cm headroom!!! ![]() Last mod from yesterday night beside mounting the DW tension rods. Finally I could throw away the steering wheel that came with the car, I don´t know what they´ ve done to it, but it had terrible axial/radial runout and was falling apart. from: ![]() to: ![]() I´ve also spend a lot of time with polishing my 4 other mesh rims, the centers have been sand blasted and will recive a fresh golden paint. A friend talked me into replacing the pressed steel wheel nut seats with new stainless cnc machined ones. The old ones had really bad corrosion and the wheels nuts got loose sometimes. ![]() All that´s left to do until my next drift attempt is a oil change, mounting the seat once and for all and a good WHEEL ALIGNMENT!!! Right now money is comming pretty good, hopefully everything will be done by the end of the month.
