If the timing does not change when you plug/unplug the diagnostic
connector, your engine is not going into diagnostic mode. There is a list of conditions that must be met before the engine will enter diagnostic mode. From memory.... 1. Engine at normal operating temp. 2. All accessories turned off. 3. A/C turned off. 4. Idle at 850-900 rpm. 5. IDL switch in TPS closed. 6. Probably one more I've forgotten yup, battery volts more than 11.If you can't get the engine to go into diagnostic mode, as suggested above, set the timing to 16-17 deg at idle. Cheers... jondee86 |
