I have a question, can you put a turbo on a silvertop? if so what parts do I look up? i know turbo kits and stuff, but i Just dont know what parts to look for under the silvertop name... if that makes any sense.

My gut feeling sais it would be stupid, silvertop is a high compression engine aint it? You would have to lower the compression to make it work, not sure if the silvertop adds any strength compared to the GZE block that would merrit it as a choice over the GZE.
Besides, with a turbo (or supercharger) the whole benefit of 20valve sorta disapairs as it's mainly to improve flow of the N/A setup, with forced induction you don't really have benefit from the extra valve, I'd say with forced induction you'd have most benefit from a 16v head, my guess would even be that a bigport head without tvis would be the best setup for a forced induction engine but again, just my gut feeling there.

So my gut feeling sorta sais, whats the point? But I aint no expert in these matters so I'll leave it up to the experts to make sence out of it Big Grin

I think you benefit more from the 5v system with force induction then without. Total open valve area increases so more chance to push air in by force. High compression is relative, shouldn't really be a problem with good quality gas.
Best power setup would probably be 20v+GZE bottom end.

As for the parts...There might be a 20v manifold out there somewhere in JDM land, but forget about finding one of the cheap Chinese replica's. Make them yourself of pay big money.

Turbo on a Silvertop is not a stupid idea.

This liltle Starlet here makes 465bhp. He fitted 2 headgaskets, a homemade plenum with a large trothlebody, a homade turbomanifold, a very large turbo and a Megasquirt.

I dont have to mention, that its rather quick... Hurray!

I just wunder, regarding the starlet, why did they take of the ITBĀ“s, and run a single throttle body.

Who needs throttle bodies on a turbo car? Seems to overcomplicate things, might even make less power than a big plenum.
