Built in Japan and perfected in ireland, the car you see before you was sourced in Japan for us by Neweraimports. When the car landed in Ireland and was transported to our yard we quickly realised that this was really a track only car due to the setup of the suspension, engine modifications and the light weight panels throughout and the extreme lack of interior.
The car spent just 3 months on Irish roads before it under went some serious surgery to transform it from balls out track car it was with little or no interior, full cage, heavy suspension and engine mods to a bonkers everyday 4 person street racer.Hope you like this restoration project and get as much enjoyment from the pictures as we did from doing this project.
There were some nice surprises along the way off which i will show you as we go along.

Hi all just a few pics of the car when it landed in Ireland and had been given a wash and polish then onto the roads for the next 3 months. When the car came in we got straight to work firstly by fixing the floor behind the drivers seat as it had all been pushed up,probably from track use or just running over things on the street.... the car was then serviced using only Redlines finest engine, gear and diff oils, fuel filter,TRD oil filter, new blades, and of course fit the TRD setas that had been transplanted from a Celica ST205 GT4 to the Hachi and off she went.
After driving the car all i can say is that for a 1.6 16valve AE86 this is one quick car....we were soon to realise why.

Interior a little tatty but lots of potential and just needed so attending to.The TRD seats were first in and transplanted from an ST205 GT4 Celica
Viewed 39 Time(s)
Floor behind the driver side and passenger side all fixed up with the dents removed.Sorry no pics of it before hand
Viewed 62 Time(s)
Gearbox all cleaned up after we had to re-tighten the flywheel bolts as they rattled loose somewhere around 9,500++ RPM (TWICE)
Viewed 34 Time(s)
Not bad nick for a god knows how old exhaust.Autosol is a great metal cleaner :) :)
Viewed 49 Time(s)
All ready and waiting to make it's Irish debut onto the roads properly. This is where the fun starts

Nice fix up!
What's the story of that intake? It looks like it is from a different engine...

The intake is a K+n filter mated to an ARC cool air chamber, and in the inlet manifold had been modified and ported so as to flow more air and so on.it worked well but as you'll see later on it's all been changed

Was we had removed the engine it was time to prep for washing it all down
Viewed 25 Time(s)
This is where it started to test the patience as i was lying on my back on the drivers seat with my legs facing the boot and head under the dash removing the pedals and disconnecting all linkages

Eventually after removing only all inside bar the dash it was out to the wash bay for some scrubbing. We had the dash out before and it was very very clean and in good condition so we left well alone and proceeded on with the project
Viewed 24 Time(s)
All scrbbed down and ready to back inside for some more removing and finalising before paint

With the car nearly all back together and the interior nearly complete it was time to get some goodies into it so Defi gauges (oil temp, oil press, water temp, and fuel press) were bought for it as well as an Apexi Rev Speed Meter,Apexi Neo fuel controller and Defi shift light.
The Defi gauges are fantastic and very easily installed, having the daisy chain system reduces your wiring and mess in a big way.

Long champs were flattened, polished and re-fitted although the car didn't look right without side skirts....hmmmm
