Here are two of the 'single headlight' grills that I've got. I think I've got another one kicking around somewhere...
Other variations of the carina lights look like this:
twin round
twin square
And this is just a gratuitous rear 3/4 shot of this sweet looking sedan.

Here's some inspiration to help make 'later' into 'sooner'.

I'm very pleased with these TA60 sedans/coupes (especially coupes), and I came up with several questions. Does it has LSD or what brakes are in front/rear? Did TA60 carinas is very different from AE86 in technical area? Is the 2T-G engine very bad ?
Sorry or OT

My TA60 has an open diff (S-class) and LSD on the TA60 was not an option as far as I know. All TA60s have disc front, drum rear.
I think a LSD can easialy be swapped from some Celica models, same axle and same diff size. Also swapping the axle and drivetrain from an AA63 or any other model XA6X Celica should be easy: same wheelbasis. Only the Celica Supra should be a problem since it has a different wheelbasis.
From what I read and heard the 2T-G engine is not bad at all but it has a bit less power and is less rev-happy than the 4AGE. I'd rather have a 2T-G in my TA60 than the 2T I currently have.
The TA60 carina isn't that different than the AE86, but it is much closer to the Celica than to the Corolla, so it isn't entirely a 4 door hachi.

2TG engine is meh..but a 3T-GTE with a huge turbo hanging from the side. Puerto Rican dragracing style.

The *A60 models dont come with too much flash stuff, but do have a T40 or T50 box, and a T series rear. And hydraulic clutch too.
Mine was an AA60 with 3AU, which means it's stupidly easy to swap a 4AGE into! But I had something else in mind.
The *A63 models are the good ones, had 10" vented discs at the front, solid disks at the rear (and internal drum for handbrake ) And sometimes came with F series LSD rear, and W50 or W55 gearbox. And 4AGE, 3TGTE, or one or two other things.
The main reason I bought a carina over anything else, is that they're so damn easy to upgrade!
For example, fitting my engine. I used an ST141 corona crossmember and engine mounts, and blammo, I've got a 3SGE in the car.
Fitting the 6 speed box?
I removed the electric speedo drive, used one from a W57, and the original speedo cable plugged straight into that. And fit perfectly in the trans tunnel.
And the most jammyest part of all... The standard T40 clutch slave cylinder fits *perfectly* to the altezza box!
Or getting a stronger LSD rear end?
I got an F series live axle from an MA45 celica, and it just so happens that altezza LSDs fit right in, and I've got a cusco 2 way for it.
My entire project has gone like that so far, lol!
All my freinds think I'm a jammy bastard, but I told them.... Doing your homework pays off!

I think the Carina front on a Celica would look great (i think Toyota did it themselves, with the Corona ), not too sure about the other way around tho
Check the Soapra:

You probably mean this one:
I found it here:
http://www.geocities.co.jp/MotorCity-Race/4894/6.html
But that is a corona rear-end and a celica front end.

Hmmm, just realized that is not the case here... Two different cars.
This is the Corona front-end:
It resembles the Carina, but it is actually not the carina.

whiteline does them for the Celica's, could probably work on the Carina too. AE86 loweringsprings do fit at the front, if you have the "veerschotel" of an AE86 too.
The front struts are nearly the same as AE86 struts, exept for the mounting holes at the bottom (and in the case of Dennis' and my GT, they are bigger too, but your ST has smaller sized brakes)
And since your Carina has the same rear axle as the AE86 i believe (6,7" T series rear end, right?) they MIGHT be the same too. But i'm not too sure about that.
difference between AE86 and AA63 brakes:

Yep, AA63 struts have 10" vented discs, and are still 4x114.
And being the resident *A6* chassis nerd, I feel inclined to point out the various models that were available with a 3TGTE, AKA the GTTR versions.
1. TA63 Carina coupe
2. TA63 Carina sedan
4. TT141 Corona sedan
5. TT141 Corona coupe!
7. TA63 celica notchback
There was also lower spec'd versions of all of the above, a carina wagon, corona wagon, and an SA60 celica coupe which had the same pop up lights/front end as the celica supra.
The parts from all of which, are interchangable in terms of crossmember, mounts, etc etc etc.... Gives you a few more options to find the crossmember or whatever that you need, now that these cars are starting to get a bit harder to find bits for.

Haha... Somehow you are right about that.
I think the British have a great phrase for it: it looks bonkers!

I've got a whole stack of pictures of carina coupes/sedans in various states of modifcation, if anyone wants to see. They look cool with an AE92 front bumper, but I'll be sticking with the standard one for mine.
If anyone is keen to see some pics, let me know and I'll make a new thread.
