Hiya guys. I haven't been around these parts for a while, i've been taking care of business and trying to make a living to prepare for the year ahead. So here's the gist of it. I'm going to be selling my UK spec AE86 within the next two months.

The car spec as it currently stands is

1984 original model
4AGE (blue top) 125,300 miles driven
FSE fuel pressure Regulator
K&N air filter
Sigma Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser
Fensport 35mm drop springs (road performance)
Battle version adjustable lateral rod
Rear KYB shocks
TTT Quick shifter (with Redline MT90 oil in gear box)
aftermarket alloys (make unknown)
aftermarket exhaust (Toyota Futaba)

I'm looking to get £3500 but would be interested in hearing some offers. I'm not putting it up for sale just yet but will be sure to let you guys all know when its available. At the moment i'm just generating interest in case anyone is looking for a good condition model that may become available. If anyone has any questions about the car they can contact me via PM. I will be more than happy to answr any questions.

My reasons for selling it is down to the fact that I am now 21 and have enough NCBs to afford an import. There is nothing wrong with the current example but when I was first looking for an AE originally I was looking to go for an import and had various ideas of how things were going to go and how the appearance of the car was going to be, yet had no possible way of doing it. Now i'm giving someone else the opportunity to enjoy what ive been driving since I passed my test and can get back on track to my original plans. I may regret it in the end but its sometimes better to regret the things you have done than the things you have not.

One one hand: a shame you are going to sell this one since you put so much efford in it. On the other hand: good that you are getting an import. Thumbsup
Regarding the price: having the UK prices in memory the price sounds just right. Smile

I will feel sad to see her go as she has been very faithful and has never let me down. I cant see myself leaving the AE86 community for the very reason that its just too damn fun. I recently had two guys down from North London in my local area buying a AE92 who stumbled across my car by accident and came in to say hello. I had never met these guys yet we got straight in to conversations about what makes the car so great and how people still question what it is. Not many other cars would cause that reaction, so I see it as a great friendly community that continues to be helpful and has so much to learn from.

Hmm... If the market will pay it then more power to you, but...

Is it just me, or is that quite a lot of money for a twenty year old car? *ducks*

Not a comment specific to this thread - I know these things are very popular right now... I'm just saying you could get a 180sx for that.

Which is most likely what I'll do. I always wanted one of these things as my first "fun" car (the metro doesn't count!) but at these prices that's just not on.

(Oh, and : first post. Hi.)

these prices (which are trully too much) are for people who consider the AE86 as a "her" and not as "one of these things".

You could get a 180sx for that money. Then you would have a heavier car with less-controllable power (not that I'm really in control Very Happy ) without lsd and a certain fun-factor. I think that would have summed it all up. Puh

But seriously: 3500 pounds is not much for a UK hachi. The story would be different if it were a Dutch, Belgian or German hachi. Wink

Hmm...

Yeah, I know that's the market rate. But the hachi became a hero because it was as interesting as the costly cars, rear weel drive, well balanced and a lot cheaper.

I guess the've traded that last advantage for the heroic image that they have now, which is fine I suppose. I know I want one mostly because it's NOT a sportscar, but kinda is - and the're just arn't many cars that have that, y'know? Maybe the Skyline GTR, the M3 or the Mustang, but that's about it. (Two are too dear, and ones not got the performance to match the image... and yeah, there are more.) I absolutly would not go drift racing or anything - but it would be nice to know I could.

I won't get a 180sx, partly because the've all been "self-serviced" by this point, (with an SR20DET that's just crazy,) or have metal-worm like you wouldn't believe, but mostly because I just don't see myself in one. I realy want a Levin - I may have to stretch a little further than I had hoped, that's all.

At least these prices keep them out of the hands of the Max Power fans. I can just image one of these in a metal-flake flip with a bad fiberglass bodykit and F40 bonnet scoop, can't you? Wink

Did anyone here ever play Tokyo Highway Challange? With the "Rolling Guys"? No-one who's ever played that could go his life without owning an AE86, at least for a little while. Wink

(Oh, and it becomes a "her" once I own one - not before. Cool )

I don't expect to. Your price is true to the market - and fair play to you.

The market, however, is crazy right now.

I am in the UK, but I have an address in France, so I may end up getting one in europe and registering it there. (Extra bonus to that, of course...) Smile

But that doesn't mean I'm not intrested in your car - how bad a hit is the insurance, btw?
