no man dont get me wrong, i think thats a great time. much respect (since i read about how long and hard you practiced to come from 10s to 8s and almost down to 7.)
i ran it three laps.. first two all out (went out on several occasions so the time was sucky). i tried braking earlier the third lap and went sub 7:30. twas a pretty clean lap. but i dont have the confidence to drive it as i would like to. i hate most of the cars that drive this way in gt4 (shitty understeer) so i have no patience to try and better this laptime. i love driving the amuse s2000 r1 (or any s2000) because it brings me a lot of fun. any understeery car pisses me off. except the hachi naturlich. hachis characteristics are unique.. if you aproach the corner the wrong way you will not be able to get the car to turn in any way.. not even in 2 gear. but then again you can slide the rear at terible speeds in hi speed corners. even in third.
anyways, im done w/ time trials; back to drifting. this is the reason i bought DFP in the first place..

I should be working on my masters thesis now, so the old playstation got dusted off once again..can't concentrate..
If anyone is as bored as I am, try the following:
Arcade mode.
Nordschleiffe
Completely Stock AE86 levin, no +/- hp/kg tuning
N2 Road tires
Real pig to drive well, really close to the way I remember the stock AE86- understeering pig. However..the technical section between the two carrousels is a blast..you absolutely have to get the car sideways way before the bend in order to keep revs up..very initialD like sometimes..
Current best (after 2 laps) 9:30
Who wil be the first to beat the 9:00 barrier?

What's your laptime in nurburgring with stock ae86? I yesterday tried to go under 9 minutes. Failed - best was around 9:15... |
I can't remember which tires I used and was it Arcade or Time trial mode. Unfortunately, I'm in middle of 1000 mile race, so proper results will post next week.

Nice time..
Did you use roadtires (N2) or sportstires? The AE86 comes stock on S2 sportstires.

I don't know what is "N2" or "S2". I know that there were Road, economical, comfort and few sports tires. I used road.

i also did a 9:10 flat with Road tyres (that are the stickiest of the normal tyres - road, comfort, economy).
but i dont like the stock hachi in GT4. its an understeering devil. as most FR cars are in this game. so i tuned "my" hachi to drive as close to what i would like it to ride. Its got great balance now, and i can beat the 300 hp starion rally car on racing tyres w/ my 220hp NA hachi, using s2 sports tyres; on the touge (the umbria reverse).

oh yeah.. forgot to add: try adding some balast on the rear of your hachi.. it will make it much more balanced, much faster, and more fun to drive. ofcourse you have to tune the suspension too.

My best time on the nurb in a non race car is - so far - 6'26.996 in my RX-8 with somewhere around 400HP. I can video me going into the ranking screen too if anyone wants me to. My best overall time is 5'26.596 in the F1 car. I suck with faster cars like that. The best F1 time as far as I know is in the 4 min. range. Which is insane.
