After a few months searching Tofu Ben's managed to source me a decent looking hachi
It'll be a while before she gets over here but in the mean time the "man in japan" has sent through some post auction photos that i thought I'd share.
Can anyone help me with the spec?
I'm seeing:
coilovers
pillow-ball top mounts
brace
filter
aftermarket headers?
exhaust
bodykit? lower lip spoiler?
and the main thing.....
Is that an AE92 20v engine?
Any comments? Good or bad...
What would you keep, what would you change?
Can I say big thanks to Tofu Ben and Ares @ Kudo Racing/Temple Laugherne - cant wait til its here and i can see if it runs/works etc
Regards
Rich

Who! really nice car mate!
No its not a 20v engine sorry, plain old 16v I'm afraid:D that exhaust work looks interesting though, defo not stock, looks like some sort of equal lenght work goings on there.
It indeed has some sort of earo kit, defo not stock either, I dont recognise it. The side skirts are a bit overdone. The bumper is stock but the lip isn't I think. Looks nice!
Top mounts are camber plates which is cool. I can't see if you have adjustable coilovers from the pictures though, could be you have a normal lowering job.. then again, with this sorta work done its proly height adjustable..
Also looks like you have power steering:D and airco???

I like the car very much. The color, interior etc.
But just as nmwisima said, I don't really like the spoiler and skirts: they don't match the car.
Or just change the whole look of the car to match the spoiler and skirts.

Well after much worrying and 3rd parties getting involved I finally got my hachi a week ago today, thursday was MOT day and she sailed through with just a pair of rear tyres (30quid brand new) and the fog light, which was wired up into the original rear lights. Friday she got insured and off to the DVLA I went - paperwork was duly sorted and I paid the nice lady from the Ministry for the tax n stuff then had to wait for Tuesday to roll round to get the reg number
So half seven last night we made the number plates up and took the rear spoiler off and went out for a play
Got a few pics taken this week but I'll do some proper ones with the Digital SLR tomorrow if the weather's any good
Delivered to work
Sat outside the garage
Up on the ramps and very tidy underneath
Adjustable GAB rear suspension
Surface rust discovered when taking the gay skirts off
Spoiler waiting to be taken off
Bits I've noticed on the car that I didnt know when I bought it:
GAB suspension
2 way diff (Cusco)
Quickshift
Cusco Brake Servo Strenthener
Apexi Rad Cap
After-market ECU
Job List (in no particular order)
Sort the surface rust/repair and paint by my local bodyshop
Waxoil (shes had some done in Japland by the looks of it)
Damn good clean and valet
Sort the baulking from 3rd to 2nd - full trans and diff oil change too
Cambelts
Oil and Filter
Rip out the front and rear seats
Buy and install cage
Fit side mounts and fixed back FIA seats
Panel and carpet out the rear
Decat it
Take out the annoying bell thing that chimes at over 100KPH :smash:
Chuck on the Celica-Supra Rims and Yokies from Brother Betty
Sort out the high idle
So overall I'm very pleased, huge thanks go to Tofu Ben for sorting out what could have been a sticky situation, I would have no hesitation in recommending him and him alone in sourcing a car for anyone - wish I'd just dealt with him from the start but there we go
Comments good or bad welcomed
Rich

Nice car, nice colour, nice wheeeels....damn I'd like some with a lip like that.
The sideskirts looked like bmw m3 skirts on steroids.
The way that the tail lights are painted blue they make the car look american.. don't ask me why, it just looks that way to me

Update:
Have been doing a fair bit of shopping lately and spending the last few Thursdays (my day off) down at a friends garage - have done diff oil, box oil, service etc etc so I thought now is time to update my little project thread
Done got me some sexy Celica-Supras from Brother Betty:
Got my decat on from TechnoToyTuning:
Waxoiled the whole car (it still stinks lol) Thanks Stref
Bought a new drivers seat:
And todays major job was fit the Safety Devices Roll cage including spreader plates, all done to MSA Blue Book regulations - the plan is ultimately to get the car MSA Logbooked for sprint/hillclimb/rally etc which means OK for dori stuff too
Jobs still to do:
Bodyshop stuff - still thinking blue over black two tone
Plumbed in extinguishers
Battery cutoff
Get the seat in
Find out why its idling too high - turns out the ECU isnt after-market d'oh
Fingers crossed hoping for Oulton Park on the 9th Dec in some shape or form
Big thanks to Streffie@Streffords Garage Worcester - cheers matey

check all the vacuum hoses for the high idling this is often the problem. And also check if the tachometer is working well because mine shows a little bit more than the truth so...
Congrats to the car. I don't really like this blue color but I wouldn't mind it if she was mine.
Your lip BTW is definetly a zenki one mounted to a kouki one.

All stereo/speakers etc removed and donated
Annoying chime removed
Supras on
Prothane rear kit fitted - all 4 link bars, ARB etc done - fronts next week
Quickshift removed, cleaned and refitted - gear selection a smidgen better
Can take new pics if anyone's interested?
