My car was first registered in june 1984, but according to some people the real production date can be found on the driver side safety belt (on the label). I can only remember it said 1983, which wouldnt surprise me since these cars had to be shipped to europe from japan, and then be sold before being registered here officially.

I think the only way of finding out is to compare the VIN's. My oldest ends with 034037. Both my other cars are around 230000.

The sister car of mine lives in the UK & from my memory she is number 63 ae86 ever built Embarassed ,
Build in the factory & then in next door to TOMs were it was turned into a GpA touring car, the same car won the Macau 1600 Gp 3 times.
I think mine is 1300 or something will check asap.
Here no 63 (I think) back in the day.

Hmmmmmm was the driverside door tag ONLY a US market item? On my car the metal tag rivetted to the drivers side door clearly states "BUILD DATE" and is "Feb 1987".
