one more pic, this is a 1982 Carina Diesel that i picked up earlier this year that i am in the process of 86ing, The floor pan, engine bay, etc.. is nearly exact same as an 86 so its an easy job(is it ever?) 2TB in it now, soon to be 4AGE on Webers, perfect Recce car for before the rallies
pics dont do it justice, this car is spotless underneath, not a mm of the orange stuff. i'll get started on it in spring, more pics then...

My dad used to own this type of Carina (guess where my toyota madness came from). Always wondered how the car would look if it was going sideways.
Am I seeing it correctly? Does it already have a hachi-seat mounted in it?

ha ha, well spotted, wheels too... looking forward to getting it on the road, 86's have a very bad reputation here, i couldnt leave the house without getting pulled over. this will be a bit more subtle

well, the 86 or Twincam as we call it here is usually everybody's first rear wheel drive car and the signs are everywhere when theres a new one in town - donut marks on the main rd... drifting on every roundabout in town during the day. whenever theres a big car meet, the local twincam is always the first guy to start messing. they are a much loved car here but thankfully now they are mostly in the hands of enthuasists (as prices are too high for the messers)
there was an occasion here in 98 when about 100 86's descended on my town of Galway at the Rally weekend and destroyed the place in rubber, riot police were out and all. so sealed the ledgend.
anybody got any vid of that night? think my car was one of the ones involved before i got it
