Well that's a matter of taste really - I've got nothing about boxer engines and from am emgineering standpoint they are good engines.

Blimey I cannot believe that people are negative about it on here.

It's my perfect daily driver for when my AE86 gets a more comfortable life. The GT86 has enough power to exploit the chassis and can do around 40mpg. Sounds absolutely perfect to me.

If the road reviews are as good as the track reviews then we may well have a legend in the making. I cannot wait myself.

If it's as good as they say, I will be getting a GT86 and have both my dream cars. Smile

About the specs, no specs in the brochure. There is a colour pallete and somehing about options but not much detail.

These engines are from the ark in emmisions speak, they were never going to be anything like an option, surely you must realise that?

I think we've done well to get a revvy NA personally when everything else is turbocharged. We've all heard the sound the GT86 makes and it sounds alright to me!

The boxer engine in the GT86 sounds fantastic, oh and it just
happens to help the car achieve an extraordinarily low centre of gravity
and a low centre of gravity is what some in the know try to achieve
by lowering their cars.
Most people however seem to lower their cars just to "look cool"

New AE86 RUMOR! (FT-86 concept)
Don't get me wrong I think it's one of the best cars release in the last ten years. It's just not for me. I'm personally in the market for a 4door saloon at the moment, so my weapon of choice will be a Chaser. If I could get as many cars as I'd like I'd have one too but to be honest there's no point for me to have both an AE and a GT86.
I admit that currently the GT would probably serve me better than the AE. If I wouldn't have my AE anymore I would get a GT no questions asked. It's just I'm looking at the potential it could have had and it came close but as I say in gambling being second is the same as the first looser.
I'm simply disapointed by the fact they implemented more luxury and hence weight then initialy was planed. I'm convinced it's an awesome car to drive and will bring lots of fun to those who own one. It's just not for me.
A small car for me has to be sub 1000kg, else like I said I'll go for a Chaser which is heavy luxuriousish and did cost about the same back in the days it was released to the market. Yes fuel economy and emission are worse but this is something I personally don't care about.

Finally my position is different than many others as I never live long enough in one place (usualy 3-4 years) before I have to move on. So having many cars is not an option anymore (used to have 4). On the other hand it's just a matter of time before I am faced with the unavoidable fact my AE is getting too old to import and then I'll have to get rid of it or store it in Switzerland for when I'm there on holidays. But like I said then I'd probably switch to something bigger and if space and money allows it I might get a GT as well.

I dont think that the boxer givin a low centre gravity more than a inline engine if the engine is in the corect position .example take the subarus with the evos .i race with a evo ix against many subarus and i drove also subaru
evo with inline engine was 10 times better all around from subarus . the subarus was way to much understeer .if they wanted to make a car with low emisions why they dint put a new 1.6 turbo engine? like many other companys thes days .will be small light and powerfull.and the other part that i am waried the price of the car will be not cheap . i gues that will have the s2000 price .

So you think you know it better than Subaru and Toyota......keep on dreaming! Banging head

Looking at your previous posts you say Subaru are the worst engines, worst in what?
Subaru is in the the top of the most reliable car manufactures in the world for years, so it can't be about that.

And from your last post I can make up that you drive Evo's, so it kinda looks to me that you are an Evo fanboy that hates Subaru because "they are the enemy".

You have given absolutely no valid reason why they are the "worst" engines.

Go troll somewhere else please.
