I'm positive about the 3T being mated with a T50, but I'm not too sure about the 3T-GTE being mated with a T50.

bought some wheels for the Chaser, and because the Chaser isn't back from the welder yet, i tried them on Dennis' Celica
The Chaser shares it's suspension with the Celica, so i knew enough after fitting them to his car

Cool!
That's one of the things I'm still missing: the indicators.
Maybe a little bit late, but I found out that the Corona taxi (T140) has the same front grille and round lights as the KA67 Carina wagon.

Great donuts! Especially the first ones before you get chased by the cone-guy!
I think I'm convinced of the 1UZ being the right engine for a Carina!
BTW: I already found that video: I'm subscribed to kinloud on Youtube.

knock knock- whos there?! not number one big end bearing anymore- DOH!!!
many laps of the pukekohe race track finally took its toll this weekend resulting in the death of the 1uzfe. not sure if its been on its way for a while or if it was simply due to a much tighter line over the mountain resulting in much higher side forces running the oil up and away form the pick up but on the bright side of things i finally have to do all the small and not so small things that were bugging me since getting it going initially.
So while the engine is out:
custom oil pan to cure the oiling problem
new engine mounts - the original ones work a treat but a little bulky in my mind- so will redesign them to be as slim and block hugging as possible to allow more room for the headers.
Proper headers- the current ones are fatory units hacked into an ungodly nightmare.
As for the engine- i just pulled the pan off and found that yes indeed number one bearing has spun on the crank- no damage to the crank luckily but the big end cap has a small deformation in it- will get some second opinions but what im thinking is new connecting rod at this point.
Stage Two tune here i come!!!

What do you think about a 2T-G head exchange for the 3T engine?
A buddy told me, that the whole engine replacement is not a quite good idea, because the loss of much torque (and gain power, i know, but i dont want to rev Granny to high rpm often )

2TG to 3T is a lot of work... Might be easier to just swap the 3T crank into the 2T block and cut reliefs where necessary.

I think the same applies to the 3T as the 2T: you need to change the waterpump, some pulleys, timingchains, other 'camshaft' in the engine, some block-holes-off-plates etc.
