Modify the upper trailing arms

I am building my AE86 for trackdays, (grip race), and I wondered how I can modify the upper trailing arms so the are more horizontal, when I have lowered the car. The arms actually hits the metal on the bracket now.

I thinking to move the bracket a bit up, but I have to reinforce it a lot to keep it stable. I borrow a picture here: http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o65/jinjaninja69/11122008269.jpg

I have also thought to use equal lenght traling arms, but its a bit difficult to get it right. Like this guy here: http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/3112/cimg0925nw3.jpg
I'm not so happy tho do this operation, as I might will use the car as normal daytime car later. But if its realy nesesary to build these trailings arms boxes, I will do it.

The lower trailing arms can be horizontal just fitting some tractions brakets.

Does anybody have an idea what should be the best choise?

I'm going for the equal length arms in my car and I'm currently building the housings for the new brackets (link). It's going to be a dedicated track racer though, so there's no need to compromise.

One possibility might be not using equal length arms, but only slightly longer upper arms with a smaller housing protruding through the floor. This would make it possible to carve a bit of foam off the back seat and still be able to mount it back on the car.

Thanks for the link. It seams pretty difficult to figure out, where to drill the holes in the new box.
If I go for the full Racecar, I can also get rid of the sparewheel and make room for a rear diffuser instead.

Hey Jimmi! You can make it drive very well without using equal length arms. I would start off stock untill you decide on a fully built race car Thumbsup
