I didn't realise that the standard ECU was cause for a lot of headaches also. I just re-read the AE86 engine conversions write-up over at hachiroku.com.au, and they mentioned this as a cause for concern as well. The ECU issue, and your comments regarding the difficulty of fitting the standard plenum has me thinking that I should perhaps delay the conversion and take a more calculated approach. I may indeed be better off buying the quad throttle body adapter plate from Glenn, source some blacktop ITBs locally here in NZ and either go for an Adaptronic or a Link G4. I've just emailed both Adaptronic in Australia and Glenn over at the hachiroku.com.au forums for quotes.

How are you finding the Adaptronic? In fact, how did you find the BEAMS setup with ITBs and ECU performance wise? Worth the high costs of the conversion? I can't help but think that 240 N/A horsepower (factoring in added power from mods mentioned above) would be great fun in the Hachi...
