And to make things worse, the PRV was originally designed to be a V8. So it wasn't be brightest option to begin with. Lets just say, it runs weird...

But if you want to, the PRV can be tuned enough to make the Delorean move. The engine has been used in rally's, making over 200bhp easy in the 504 coupe's.

The standard 130 bhp PRV6 would do 0-60 around 10 seconds. But with the upgraded "Stage 2" engines from Delorean here in the US you'll end up with just shy of 200bhp. And given that the Delorean doesn't weigh close to what most american cars weigh, you'll get some decent performance numbers. To bad the engine upgrade will run into the papers. $5250.00 including parts and labor to a low mile (>50000 miles) or $6750.00 for a dropped-in crate engine. And naturally you can't buy the parts seperatly.

I wonder what 5250 would do to a stock AE86... if you take it to a shop.
