Best Suspension Setup/System

Ive thought alot in how to get the best street/track/drifting setup on my car and cant think of anything.
What does Takumi have on his panda? Bilstein?

I Like the Greddy Coilies but is it the best thing to have?

Want something thats comfy but sporty as hell
Im also going to change the control arms and sway bars.

Suggestions?

Coil-Over conversion up front, Top-Mount Camber Adjusters, RCAs, Adj Shocks & Hard Springs @ the rear.

i didnt really get how to re done the old suspension parts.

Yeah, suspension and suspension setup depends on really a lot of things...I suggest that you should decide for what use you want your car, "simulate" a setup in your mind (how you want the car to handle and respond), and then drive a couple of AE's with a similar setup to get an idea of the car's behavior.I suggest that you should go for an adjustable suspension, because you can experiment a lot on the setup.Especially on suspension, your personal touch and feeling is almost everything...

I think that Greddy would be pretty ok for what you need.
They are adjustable and can be set to "confy"mode.

If you're going to rally/off road I would suggest to get blistein shocks, spring rate is up to you.

And then some RCA or NCRCA and new bushings (Protane/TRD)

Bilstein? on a japanese hachi? I doubt it

If you watch the anime you'll know that he has Buntas special custom suspension.. so its likely custom rate springs with TRD shocks Bunta got from a friend at TRD specifically valved to its needs.. Offcourse after Project D got their hands on the Hachi it changed even more after that and I doubt it has any relation to anything you can just buy in the shops.

In the end though, its a cartoon! Takumi might aswell have bought his suspension on the moon, his suspension works as good as the cartoonist wants it to

I'm not sure what they used for the live action movies though. Most likely anything sourced from sponsors

Back to giving serious answers.. I think the best advise has already been given, the best suspension depends on your objectives, what do you want to do... THere are some good direct swap kits out there so I would go for one of those if you're not the experimental type of person.

Also search around, there are several threads already discussing suspension to the fullest, loads of info already to be found.

Time for a reality check !!!! There is no such thing as a "comfy" drift
suspension. Stiff as a board suspension with no travel will ride like a
dray on the road, jump sideways in corners, and turn your milk to butter
by the time you get home from the supermarket

Of course the car will handle like a go-kart on a smooth race track

My advice... if you want an everyday driver that can handle the usual
bumps and uneven surfaces that most of us drive on evey day, go with
a set of "sports" lowering springs, Koni's, TRD rubber bushings and a
decent set of "performance" tires.
