As far as I know the oil pumps are the same on all 16 valve 4AGE's.
FWD and RWD water pumps will interchange, but RWD pumps have a
stronger nose to support the weight of a fan. If you have an electric
fan you can use the FWD pump; just don't expect a FWD pump to last
for long if you bolt a fan to it Tongue

The FWD pump is a bit shorter than the RWD one, I bought one a long while back and when I installed it I noticed it was the wrong type (by which time it was too late to return it). You can use the FWD pump, but you'll need to use the fwd pulley, since that put's the position of the belt in the same place as the stock pump&pulley combination.

For the record, I've been driving with this pump for about a year now, it has held up fine, but I dont rev the engine high all the time. The RWD pump is probably longer due to a bigger bearing to spread the load of the fan a bit.

What´s wrong with your old one? It´s not like they break very often specially not around the 150000km mark.
I disassembled my genuine oilpump wich has done at least 300k and there was nothing to worry about...
If you´re worried, check the relief valve + spring, that the only part in there that can fail.
The pump is by far the best lubicated part in your engine. Big Grin

It doesnt seem wrong but oil pump failure can be critical so I thought that if I spend something about lets say 500 euro on the engine I would be pissed if something happens. And I think that new pump will make higher oil pressure and flow which is better for engine. Next thing is that you never know(if someone knows how long will toyota keep making parts for 4age let me know ) when toyota will stop producing parts for 4age.
But thanks I will consider your advice and check the old one first. I wont throw the old one away...

Get a smallport pump. Better design, as it is less prone to cracking under sustained high-rpm use and higher flow/volume.

Smallport & 20v (silver & blacktop) use the same upgraded gear.
