axels/diff case for hi power engine?

axels/diff case for hi power engine?
quick translation:

usa a hyundai H100 axle, redrill to 4x 114.3
i'm drifting this axle for about 3 years with SR20DET running 350HP
and even i can't break this sucker...

Gear ratio is 4.22 wich is nice with sr20 tranny
my diff is welded together so that makes it easy to drift, but you can put a pajero or galopper diff inside so you got a nice lsd

top speed with sr20 and this axle is + 237 km/h with tomtom (GPS) but the road ends... LOL

hope this will help you out Wink

BTW: volvo 240 rear axles are also beefy. Getting the older ones has 2 benefits: bigger brakes and cheaper gearsets/lsd's (dana stuff fits.... a brand that some jeeps use).

To be neat:
-Make a jig for the original axle so you can bolt it in (leave enough space for the bigger new one to go into the same jig later).

-Carefully cut the mounting brackets off of the original axle (or go creative with the ones on your replacement if it has similar sized brackets). Also cut off the brackets on the new axle and clean it up.

-Mod the brackets to fit the new axle, using the jig to make sure you get the bolt holes lined up perfectly.

That will sort most of the mounting issues.

-Next you will certainly need to redrill the hubs of most non-toyota axles to 4x114 bolt pattern. This is something I would let a machine shop do since it needs to be perfectly centered.

-Finally you will probably need to get your propshaft shortened and have a different flange welded on to fit the new rear axle. This will cost you about 100 euro's at a specialist shop (usually truck specialists).

Other possible issues: wheel fitment over new brakes and with a wider axle might restrict you in the size and offset department.

It's not rocket science, but it's a lot of work.
