7agze to 7agte?
Want to get more from my ae86 7agze.
Engine spec as present, hopefully about 220bhp+, wanting advise if I can change to turbo easily, what size T3 or other? What power am i looking at getting? Will 4agze ecu setup be adequate?
Dave

What CR are you runing at the moment ?

I'm not really an expret, but going from supercharger to turbo isn't really a problem. T3 or something in it's class is way to go.

Must try fine out cr unless someone knows, 7a block with
Arias 81.5mm oversized forged turbo pistons
and 4age big port head.

Lad that built engine wkd said he doesn't recommend rolling roads as the stress is never the same as the load on the open road. Seen too many expire after a session.

I can work out that compression ratio if you quote me what the CR is meant to be when installing in a 4A bottom end. What do Arias state?

also what do you mean by rolling roads?

Thats alot of work, when a stock 4A-GZE or a 20v with GZE pistions easely put out 500hp with a T70 china turbo. Have even seen one with 680hp and only modifications are a portet head and all internalls unless the cams, are OEM Toyota parts.

Project AE86 now begun.

Cars I have owned:
Toyota Starlet EP91 1,3 16v Turbo, 200hp
Toyota Starlet EP71 1,3 12v Sport
Mercedes 207D camper, 1977.
Toyota Starlet EP70 with a 174hp Silvertop 20v See video here:

Toyota Corolla AE101 with a 164hp Silvertop 20v. (Evolution bodykit and candycolor paint).
Volvo 240 2,1 (The only car I have maked money on).
Toyota Corolla EE90 (my first car)

CR needs to be known. To give an example,

standard bluetop engine ha 10.4 standard gze late model 8.9. So if you have "turbo"pistons its probable between 8.5 and 9.5 calculated with a 1mm head gasket.

Remember that a compressor can run trough the entire power band while a turbo won't do a thing at low or very high RPM. Hows your rear end holding up with that amount of torque? And what about the gearbox still t50 or do you have an upgrade?

With more power you will need to have those covered as well.

I would toss away the standard ignition system and the HKS fcon and go full management like MS/Omex or anything nicely programmable.

Apart from everything looks like a solid little engine you got there Thumbs up!
