My 1972 KE25 Corolla Coupe
I`ve finally had the rear axles redrilled to 4x114.3, so the rear wheels are finally on the car! I`ve also let this friendly guy called Mr. Bosch help me out with lowering the front springs. The rear leaf springs had sagged so much that the car was way higher up front, so something had to be done until my AE86 front struts arrives.

I`ve yet to remove the parts of the stock fenders that are hidden under the flares, I will do this one of the coming days. There is a bit of scrubbing, but not much as I expected. Up front the wheels touched the inner fender/foot wells, but a bit of hammer bashing cured most of that. In the rear, the wheels touch the lip on the stock fenders, but this material is going to be removed anyways.

Edit:
Sorry for the piss-poor pics, I`ve got much to learn when it comes to the art of photography. I`ll get someone with more skills to take proper pics of the car for me sometime during the summer.

Nice! Put them on and get your wheels pushed all the way out there, totally transforms the car! Smile

today, whilest scavaging through the shed of a friend of mine (who has 6 VW Beetles...) i found that the strips beetles use to mount the fenders on could work just as well as any other strip, and will be loads cheaper then any other flares strip you'd ever find i guess.

I've ordered a roll of fenderlining for a beetle for like 15 euro, enough to do a beetle (who need longer lines then our little cars Wink)

Maybe you could find something like that too, for your car!

Well, not much happening here. I`ve found the TE27 steering arms I needed to install the AE86 struts, as well as more parts for the suspension, steering wheel hub, adjustable seat rails for bucket seats, wing mirrors etc. I barely missed a TE27 T-series axle with a TRD LSD in the US, which of course is rather annoying. It was sold the same day as I put my dibs in Crying Crying Crying The search continues...

I haven`t really worked much on the car lately, as I`m working offshore for 2-4 weeks at the time, and I`ve been busy with moving etc. Life takes time, unfortunately. Hopefully the winter will be spent in a nice, warm garage together with my car Hurray!

I'm also on the lookout for a pair of Te27 steering arms.

Very interested to hear what you know of the TE27 rear end. It's the one thing I have had trouble finding any info on. Obviously it is a T series with spring hangers rather than trailing arms. Do you know what width it was? Did it have a panhard rod? Did they use the same diff as on a TA22? I believe very early TA22's had leaf sprung rear ends, clearly unlikely to be found now but presumably the same rear end as a TE27.

At this point I am planning on using an RA23 T series in mine which I believe is the same track as a TA22 rear end though supposedly wider axle bearings. and adding the spring hangers.

Hi!

Sorry for the late reply!

Most of what you need to know can be found on Tom`s corolla page. Check out the "performance" area on the left hand meny, I think it answers most of your questions.

Also, http://www.toyota3tc.com is a good source of information on these cars.

Good luck with your project! I`ll let you know if I find another pair of steering arms for you. Try looking on Yahoo Auctions, I`ve seen a few sets there as well.
