EGR keep it or remove it?
I was thinking about removing EGR system...

Does car run any better whit out EGR?
Is it worthwhile to remove EGR?
What are advantages and disadvantages of it?
Anybody tried to do this?

Fun is not the straight line!

Most of us dont have EGR to begin with....it only came on 86's from a few countries in europe. I dont think it will make a spectacular difference.

EGR came with 4agec AFM engines which was mounted in Swiss and Swedish (SDZ market) cars for Europe. It is quite similar to 4agec in USA, but it doesn't have a catalytic converter and O2 (lambda ?) sensor.

According to club4ag forum there's no advantage with removing EGR pipe, as the EGR system switches off after 4500 rpm...

But, what's happening under 4500 rpm?

Yesterday I finally removed EGR. Car is running very smooth, no problem at all. Now I don’t have to mess up with all those vacuum hoses and other valves anymore. Wave

Not worth it imo. The EGR removal has shown no hp gains but pollution gains. Plus it just makes it harder to pass smog/kills environment.
