Car wont start....not as easy as it might sound.
Hi yall....
After putting my car back together, and installing an engine from my old red hachi that worked perfect in that car, all of a sudden it has decided not to start.
Heres the catch...
It will start fine if i give it a good spray of fuel straight into the inlet, and then runs fine afterwards. If it then runs up to operating temp, and I switch it off, and then try to start it again....same thing happens. Engine wont run unless it gets a good shot of "adrenalin" before start-up.
I´m guessing there is some kind of start up injector that might be faulty, but before i start transferring millions of spares for troubleshooting, i would like to know if anyone has had the same prob, and knows exactly how to solve this stupid fault.
Thanks....

I agree, check vacuum lines, and double check your wiring loom and grounds..If she's not getting enough fuel it might be a sensor wired up incorrectly, it happened to me once too..

Maybe something doesn`t get power when you start the engine(fuel pump, computer)?

Did you get a spark? Check it by holding the sparkplug near some clear iron of the engine.
I had the problem with non stock sparkplugs. They didn't fit well and the ones of the gze did it for me.

Hi guys...
First of all, theres plenty of spark indeed, it runs fine when i get it running using direct shot of fuel into the inlet. And it keeps on running after that, not like it only runs when spraying fuel into the inlet, no everything is normal when it get´s running, idle and acceleration is normal after start-up.
So i´m guessing it isnt anything other than the coldstart injector. Must have some kind of start-up shot when cranking the engine normally.

My coldstart injector has been unplugged almost 8 years Big Grin , even in cold (-10) conditions the car starts fine.

I think you should check your wire's and grounds.
I have had bad connections in the past , the 6mm ground bolt on the intake manifold caused the problem.
All the injector grounds come together @ that bolt.
