AE92 RWD conversion?

Is it possible? And if so, what would you need besides the obvious? (Rear end, motor mount spots, all the stuff you have to change when you put an AE92 4AGE in an AE86) any help would be appreciated

That's a strange idea. I would say i cannot be done because
a. I don't think the motor will fit longtitudaly
b. there is no tunnel to fit the gearbox, axle and rear axis.

HAving said that, anything can be built provided there's enough money, time and metalworking skills.

Strange idea yes, but I started to do that before I bought my AE86, and I´m going to finished it some day

Rear axle is from Volvo 740, front parts are from KE70, gearbox is from Daihatsu Charmant, and before anyone ask´s no I just use 4A-F engine to do fittings...

cut out ae92suspension turrents, take aw11 rear panels and mount them in.

Mid engined RWD AE92.
You can even run it twin engine.

No I´m not, that is what I know for sure

I just like to do something different sometimes...

couple of years ago me and my brother convert Ford Fiesta to RWD, it had Escort MK1 floor and firewall, engine was about 25cm further back than normally, gearbox, front axle and rear axle was also from same Escort
We made it for everymans-class (same kind as swedish folkrace).

Our mother usually says that other people do what they can do, we do what we want to do

Hmmmm why not 4WD AE92? Should be easy enough... get AE95... use the transaxle and read diff(AND hard points) from the AE95, since the sedan also came as AE95 I can't see any substantial issues.......

Engine will still be transverse... only custom stuff would be to get the rear mounts "into" the chassis... and maybe shortening the driveshaft
