In terms of engine design I doubt a 16V 4AGE would even stand a chance against a SR18DE. Wink
And looking at the specs of an M60B30 I think the same applies to that engine as well, so I'd say why don't you try it! Tongue

Besides all that IMO a "free" engine is always better than one you have to pay for. Tongue

recommend you do a bit of research 1st. Calculate mass differences so you can try to compensate with stiffer front suspension.


Btw... BEST(imho) V8 swap into an AE86.....

Dry weight:
4A-GE = 120kg / M60 = 203kg

T50 = 27kg / Getrag = 35 - 40kg

Total difference around 100-110kg, once you include bigger exhaust, fuelpump, etc.

HP...jump from 120 to approx 200 or 8.3kg/hp to 5.5kg/hp
Balance jumps from 51F/49R to 55F/45R

Basically you create your own version of the E30

A wheel to steer the front of the car
A pedal to steer the rear
