20v BT running rich
I just put a BT 20v in my 86, and its runing really rich. About 11.5 - 12.5 on idle. I heard they run rich with open stacks which they are. Surely not this rich?? Im running a wideband and controller also no narrow band. Any ideas what would cause this?? Idle is high also around 1500rpm. When i short te1 and e1 for the service mode, nothing happens either. Any ideas???

Does check engine light lit up when engine is warmed up ?

I have the same "symptoms" , my lambda is dead. But then it should be giving you a error code.. so that's weird then.

I am running the ITB on a small port 16 valve using the stock red top ecu and the check engine light comes on when the engine gets warm.

Im not running the stock 02, im running a wibeband with an Narrow band output connected to ox pin on the ecu.

Ya the chk engine light comes on after it goes off but when i jump te1 and e1 nothings happends, so i cant read the codes, can i jump te1 straight to the chassis??

Are you using the stock ECU? If it is, that is normal. First, most of the time the engine is running rich on idle. Since the stock ECU only can read the narrow band reading (14.2 to 14.9 A/R). Once you are using the wide band O2. Your O2 can read from 11 A/R to 18 A/R. right?

But the stock ECU only can read 14.2 to 14.9 A/R. once it is not 14.2 to 14.9, The stock ECU will start putting more fuel (save mode) to save the motor (to rich will not blow the motor). Also, in idle, the ECU is already puting more fuel on idle (since it need to put more fuel to get the right A/R - Less Air density need more fuel to get the right mixture). That is the reason why you can is running rich on idle.

The wideband controller has a narrow band output. So it puts out the voltage range of the stock o2 sensor. ECU wont know that its a wideband sensor
