you can run any cam on a stock bottom end... its the cylinder head that needs the attention to (mechanically) run a wild cam.
Stock valve springs... are said to bind somewhere close to 8.0mm of valve lift (not cam lift... valve lift will be less - the amount of the clearence) I recommend doing some study on dynamic compression ratio, and how cam duration/timing can affect DCR. Concerning lift... besides spring bind at about 8mm, there is also the bucket towers... somehwere @ or near 10mm of cam lift the bucket towers need to be machined so the cams can turn in their journals Dan - You can | ![]() OST Porting service - http://hachiroku.net/forums/showthread.php?t=19991 |
